昆明综保区（经开片区）位于昆明主城东南侧昆明国家级经济技术开发区内，北接主城建成区，东临茶高山生态公园，南接呈贡新城，西望滇池西山，是昆明主城、呈贡新城、空港新城的城市重心和腹地，毗邻昆石、昆玉、昆安、昆曲等高速公路和东绕城、广福路、新昆洛路等城市快速主干道；昆明城市轻轨4号线将穿过区内，并设有羊甫车站；公路、铁路、城市交通系统十分发达，物流通畅，出入便捷。

KMFTZ District 1 is located at the Kunming National Economic and Technological Development Zone in the southeast of downtown Kunming. Neighboring the downtown area on the north, Cha gao shan Eco Park on the east, Cheng gong District on the south, and Western Mountains lying by the Dian Lake on the west, the district is a key part of downtown Kunming, Cheng gong District and the Kunming Airport Economic Zone. It is close to a number of expressways such as Kunming-Shilin Expressway, Kunming-Yuxi Expressway, Kunming-Anning Expressway, and Kunming-Qujing Expressway, and some fast arterial roads like East Ring Road, Guangfu Road, and New Luokun Road. Metro Line 4 runs through the district and stops at Yangpu Station. The highly developed road, rail and urban transportation systems around the district ensure convenient and effective transportation.

昆明综保区（空港片区）位于昆明空港经济区临空产业带的中部，交通运输网络完备，沾昆铁路、新320国道、机场3号路贯穿周边，同时邻国家门户枢纽机场昆明长水国际机场约3公里，与珠三角、长三角、京津冀等地区以及南亚东南亚国家人员货物往来便利。

KMFTZ District 2 is located at the middle of the Kunming Airport Economic Zone Airport-Based Industrial Belt. With Zhanyi-Kunming Railway, New G320 Road and No. 3 Airport Bus Route running nearby, and the gateway airport of Kunming Changshui International Airport lying 3 kilometers away, the district is easily accessible from the Pearl River Delta, Yangtze River Delta, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region, and Southeast Asia.
